Lacanche

Logon

A secular expertise

While the original products were generally simple iron items made in small quantities, new machinery led to the production of secondary cast iron, making it possible to produce and sell numerous objects such as pottery, kitchen utensils and heating elements beginning in the early 18th century. The first wood stoves and cooking stoves for homes and restaurants manufactured in Lacanche were also the first appliances of their type built in France.

In the 1900s, the use of sheet steel and colored enamel meant that cooking appliances burning wood and coal could evolve to more elaborate and elegant shapes. Today, some of these models are true collector’s items.

Throughout the 20th century, cooking equipment, cooking stoves, gas stoves and ovens progressively become more comfortable and practical to use, with the addition of heating techniques made possible by the use of gas and electricity.
